Back to School Review: Tunza Cards

Do you use index cards? Now that kids are back in school, you probably have to buy a stack of those. I loved using index cards at school - especially for those long, pesky words and formulas. Whether you have a child at school or college, or you use them at home, index cards are helpful. Too bad they usually end up in the garbage or recycling bin after using them just once!

I came across a clever product called Tunza Cards. These are reusable index cards that you can write on, erase and re-use. Tunza Cards save you from having to purchase new, pre-printed flash cards each time a kid changes subjects in school.

The Tunza Cards are the size of a 3"x5" index card. They are made of UV-coated cardstock and you can write on both sides of the card with a regular permanent marker. Once the marker has dried, it can be wiped off with rubbing alcohol and the card re-used.

I used a blue Sharpie, since the manufacturers recommend using colors other than black. There were no smudges, and the writing cleaned easily with a couple of cotton balls soaked in alcohol. Tunza Cards are sturdier than regular paper index cards, and because of the coating, they will last longer. They are a great alternative to paper index cards, and are very affordable - a set of 25 costs $5.99. More importantly, they will save you money in the long run and reduce waste.

You can purchase Tunza Cards here.

Interesting. I'll keep those in mind. My son is taking Japanese this year, and we are already going crazy with index cards. They were my constant companion all through college as well.

    Thanks for sharing.
