Giveaway and Review: Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate (10/31)

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I have sampled several Tropical Traditions' products. I am very impressed by the quality of the items I tried and by the efficiency and responsiveness of their customer service. For this review, I selected their Coconut Cream Concentrate.Coconut Cream Concentrate is certified organic whole coconut meat in concentrated form. The dried coconut meat is ground into a very fine powder, giving it a creamy consistency due to its high fat content. Since it is 70% fat, it is a rich source of pure coconut oil. Nutritionally, the Coconut Cream Concentrate has about 31 calories per teaspoon, close to half a gram of fiber and 3 grams of fat.
I used the Coconut Cream Concentrate as a butter substitute. It tastes delicious on toast and bagels. I also added a teaspoon to my coffee. It brought just a hint of the exotic to my morning! The Coconut Cream Concentrate also worked well added to my cream of vegetable soups and steamed veggies.
Other ways you can use the Coconut Cream Concentrate is to blend it into smoothies, mix it in the batter or dough of breads and pastries, and mix 1 or 2 teaspoons with water or juice to make a creamy coconut milk drink. It solidifies at temperatures over 75 degrees, so I recommend warming the beverage before adding the Coconut Cream Concentrate. Or, you can warm it a bit before use.
