Review: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - Diamond Edition

My daughter is in the land of magic and fairy tales right now. She is watching the new DVD edition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I can hear the wicked stepmother's laugh and the lively, expressive music as I type this. Thanks to the One2One Network, we received a review copy of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack a day before it officially hits the stores on October 6. Snow White has been a favorite in our family for a long time, and now we can enjoy the movie on DVD.

The classic story comes to life for the first time ever in High Definition 7.1 sound. It includes an all-new music video, expanded viewing experience, and games for the whole family. Parents will enjoy going behind the scenes of this legendary tale. It is hard to believe that Snow White the movie came to life in 1937 - the first full-length animated film ever made to become one of the most watched films in history.

We do not own a Blu-ray player right now but it is on our holiday wish list. Whether you currently have one of these or plan to get it eventually, the combo pack with both a Blu-ray and a DVD disc is a great option. From what I've read, Blu-ray discs offer up to six times better quality than DVD. Parents will be delighted to know that these discs are more scratch-resistant and have immersive activities with games and special features. No need to throw out your DVD collection if you switch to Blu-ray - these players work with both Blu-ray and DVD discs. Blu-ray also plays on Sony Playstation 3 players.

Simply put, the picture is clearer and the sound is better with Blu-ray. I can't wait to watch Snow White in this format! Well, Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa may bring us a Blu-ray player this year.

And now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go find out what the evil queen is plotting...
