Le Creuset Crepe Pan from CSN Stores: Review

Sunday, May 16, 2010 Posted by Dina N

A few weeks ago, I welcomed some much needed inspiration into my kitchen with Le Creuset. I love my stock pot so much, I've put Le Creuset cookware on my wish list for birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas. So when CSN Stores gave me the opportunity to review another product from their 200+ stores, I picked a Le Creuset item.
Everyone at my house likes crepes but we did not have the right pan in which to make these delicious thin pancakes. Now, I have the perfect crepe pan - thanks to Le Creuset and CSN Stores!

The Le Creuset Crepe Pan is made from cast iron. Since crepes are a French specialty, it's fitting that this pan comes from a French company that has been making fabulous cookware for 85 years. Cast iron, of course, is famous for providing even heat distribution and browning. This pan is heavier and sturdier than other pans I've used, and promises to last a long time with proper care.

The interior is black enamel, and the exterior cobalt. The shade of blue is beautiful! I made crepes and pancakes, and they came out delicious. The wooden dough spreader (rateau) takes a bit of practice, and you'd need a spatula to turn the crepes over. I used vegetable oil to lightly coat the pan, and had no problems with the pancakes sticking.

The Le Creuset Crepe Pan measures 10.75" in diameter, and works on all heat sources - including induction. The booklet that comes with the pan includes 4 recipes for crepes: traditional, savory, Crepes Suzette, and apple. Although it is intended for crepes, I used it to make excellent pancakes, too.

CSN Stores carries a variety of Le Creuset products, as well as many other great brands in their 200+ online stores. If you are not familiar with this company, check them out!

Until May 31, you can also enter to win a Le Creuset stock pot, courtesy of CSN stores, right here on my blog.

I am SO jealous! A Crepe pan would be awesome, but a le creuset crepe pan! That sounds perfect! :)
