Contest for Kids: $15,000 Grand Prize from French Toast

Now that school is out, kids are free to enjoy the nice weather and summer activities. In my family, we visit the local library, have picnics at the park, and spend time at the pool. If you are looking for a special project for your school-aged children during summer vacation, check out the contest launched last month by French Toast.

French Toast are sponsoring a $15,000 contest in which kids who attend a school with a dress code can show the world what makes them unique and special. The contest that I blogged about a few weeks ago is called “Show Us The Real ‘U’ In Uniform”, and is open to all uniform-wearing children. Its goal is to provide a forum for kids to express their individuality.

In this contest, children are encouraged to send in videos or essays with pictures – showing them dressed in their uniforms – that illustrate and describe why they are exceptional. Kids and their parents can enter the contest by visiting and following the instructions. Videos must include some footage of the student in his/her school uniform and can be a maximum of two minutes in length. Essays can be a maximum of 300 words and must be accompanied by at least one picture of the child in uniform (maximum of six pictures). The final day to submit an entry is September 15.

On November 1, French Toast will be posting the 10 finalists and people will be able to vote for their favorites. The grand prize winner will win $10,000 in cash and their school will receive $5,000 in vouchers from French Toast. Results will be announced on or around November 30.

Disclosure: I am a French Toast Brand Ambassador for this project. No compensation was provided for this post.
