Organic Insect Repellent from Tropical Traditions: Review and Giveaway (Ends 6/27) CLOSED

A good insect repellent is an absolute must for my family. Preferably an organic one that is not loaded with questionable chemicals. Tropical Traditions makes an all natural organic insect repellent using their fabulous organic virgin coconut oil. The other ingredients include organic jojoba, plant based emulsifying wax, grapefruit seed extract, virgin palm oil, and organic essential oils of citronella, catnip, lemongrass, peppermint, and tansy.
This product is a lotion that you apply on the skin as needed. Since it contains no chemicals, I used it on my kids as well as on myself. Once on the skin, the lotion has a pleasant lemony-grassy scent. It can be safely used on the face, as well. I learned from the Tropical Traditions site that coconut oil has been used to ward off insects in tropical climates for hundreds of years. I already knew that essential oils are known to repel insects, as well. I found the combination of coconut oil and essential oils to be very effective in preventing mosquitoes from feasting on my family during a recent cookout. I noticed it also doubled as a moisturizer!
