Be Green and Cool for Back to School: Vapur the Anti-Bottle Review

Sunday, August 15, 2010 Posted by Dina N

Vapur is a reusable water bottle that's more than just a bottle. It stands, it freezes, it folds, it flattens! How come, you ask?

The Vapur looks like a plastic pouch with a bottle top when empty. It's BPA-free, and comes in several pretty colors: pink, green, purple, blue and smoke. I received the blue one, and I really like it. When filled with water, the Vapur can stand. Or, you can hang it on a belt, lunch box or backpack, thanks to the handy metal carabiner on the side. Or, you can remove the carabiner when you don't need it.

The Vapur can double up as an icepack that keeps your food fresh in that lunch box. It is freezable, so when I filled it with water and left it in the freezer overnight, I had it ready for my daughter's lunch box in the morning. It holds 16 oz - two out of the 6-8 cups of water that she is supposed to drink every day. Plus, the water will be nice and cold - a great bonus in this hot weather. I love it that I can write my daughter's name on the back of the Vapur. For cleaning, the bottle is dishwasher safe but I prefer to wash it by hand.

The Vapur bottles are a trendy yet useful addition to your child's lunchbox. It would also be very handy on a picnic, a hike, or even in the office. At just $8.95, it's an affordable green alternative to buying overpriced bottled water and tossing plastic bottles in the trash. Should you ever need to replace the cap, a set of 4 costs $2.49.
