Bounce Dryer Bar: Review

Tuesday, October 05, 2010 Posted by Dina N

The Bounce Dryer Bar is a laundry product from Procter & Gamble. Its shape reminds me of a flat oval bar of soap. The dryer bar replaces dryer sheets for about two months, and all you have to do is stick it to the inside of your washer - and forget it! It comes with a plastic holder, and I would suggest taking the bar out for those dryer cycles when you do not want a fabric softener - children's sleepwear or other flame-resistant clothing, for example.

The Bounce Dryer Bar effectively controlled static in my dryer, and gave the clothes a pleasant fresh scent. The sample I tried was Outdoor Fresh, and the dryer bar also comes in Fresh Linen as well as in a larger size that lasts about 4 months. There is a replacement indicator that will appear when it's time to get a new bar. The old one slides out and the new one slides into the same holder, so there is no need to remove and re-attach the plastic holder.

I do laundry frequently, so I am not sure how long the bar will last in my laundry room. I like the convenience of not having to think about adding dryer sheets or liquid softener every time I run a load.

The small size retails at about $5.99, and the larger at about $8.49. You can find the Bounce Dryer Bar at retailers as well as online.

I've been using the Bounce dryer bar since it first hit the store shelves months ago and I've never looked back. I love the convenience of not having to remember a dryer sheet and even better that that -no more used dryer sheets to cling to my clothes or fall on the floor when folding laundry. It is effective at giving my clothes a fresh scent and preventing static cling. I do, however, still purchase dryer sheets (albeit the small box of 20) for those batches of clothes that are highly succeptible to static (acrylics, polyesters, and some sweaters) and it's not such a big deal. I totally love this product!
