Holiday Gift Guide 2010: Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook Review and Giveaway (Ends 11/29) CLOSED

Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook by Phyllis Pellman Good includes 50 kid-friendly recipes to make in a slow cooker. My daughter, who loved chicken noodle soup, picked that recipe as the first one to try. The cookbook is beautifully illustrated with mouth-watering photos. It really helps with my kids to be able to see the end result even before we get there. The instructions for each recipe are easy to follow. The cookbook is spiral bound, so it stays open on the recipe we are making. The steps are numbered on the left page, and the picture of the dish is on the right. The recipes are easy enough for kids to make with a little help from adults, and they are grouped into breakfast, lunch, snack time, dinner, and dessert.
In addition to the ingredients, each recipe lists what equipment is needed to prepare the dish. The cookbook includes a glossary that is very helpful for young chefs. On the last page of the cookbook, there is My Cookbook Diary where kids can write down the names of the recipes they made, when they prepared them, and how the dish turned out.
Besides the chicken noodle soup that turned out great, my kids have decided to make the Cheesy Egg and Broccoli Casserole, the Pizza Dip, and the Gooey Chocolate Pudding Cake. We have them all scheduled over Thanksgiving break next week!
The Fix-It and Forget-It Kids' Cookbook just came out last month, and I highly recommend it for those who enjoy cooking with the kids, or are looking for some easy, tasty recipes to make in a slow cooker. It retails for $19.99. Spending time with my kids in the kitchen, cooking chicken noodle soup together - priceless!
