Book Review and #Giveaway: Twice A Spy by Keith Thomson (Ends 6/23) CLOSED

In the tradition of Robert Ludlum, Thomson’s novel featuring a former spy and his son poses the question: What happens when a former CIA agent can no longer trust his own mind?
Charlie and Drummond Clark are now in Switzerland, hiding out from criminal charges in America and using the time to experiment with treatments to retrieve Drummond’s memory. When NSA operative Alice Rutherford, with whom Charlie has fallen in love, is kidnapped, the Clarks must dodge a formidable CIA case officer and his team to get her back.
My Review
It's been a while since I'd enjoyed a good old spy thriller - although I continue watching good ol' spy movies from time to time. Twice A Spy by Keith Thomson reminded me how fun a well written spy story can be. It follows the adrenaline-pumping race of a father and son duo who are trying to outmaneuver everyone in a run for their lives - and save the son's girl in the process. The CIA, the NSA, the fanatics, the police, the disgruntled former spies, and just plain killers for hire seem close to impossible to avoid. Enemies are at every turn, a dangerous explosive device is at play, and the father - an extraordinary player in his day - is suffering from early onset Alzheimer's. And just when I thought the two were relatively safe, the stakes of the game became much, much higher.
I enjoyed the plot, the characters, and Mr. Thomson's writing style and sense of humor. This book is somewhat of a sequel to Once A Spy
. Although I have not read the earlier book, it did not prevent me from finding Twice a Spy
an irresistible page turner.The Giveaway

I just finished reading "The Girl Who Played With Fire". Loved it! So sad it's the last one. I need to find a new series to grab me, and need something to read when I'm tired of the series. This book sounds so interesting. Also, I lived in Europe 7 years, and I love reading books that are set there because I generally read about a location I've visited.

The last good book I read was Last Bus Out, which I won on a blog giveaway. Great book about Hurricane Katrina and a young boy.
