Eco-Friendly #BacktoSchool with Sage & Kai Napkins: #Review

Tuesday, September 06, 2011 Posted by Dina N

I pack my kids' lunches in reusable containers. I also send silverware and a napkin. Until recently, the napkins were paper - the only non-green item in her lunch bag.

Not any more: I found the most adorable napkins at Sage & Kai. These 10"x10" reusable napkins are handmade of 100% certified organic cotton with low impact dyes. They are just the right size for a lunch box or for any meal at home. We even brought them along to a Labor Day picnic. I received two sets - one with polka dots, a design my kids fell in love with, and another with whimsical white and brown shapes. The napkins were lovingly packaged with a ribbon. The cotton fabric is soft and the color nice and vivid. To clean, all I do is toss them in the laundry in cold water. My daughter takes one to school in her lunch bag and we use the rest at dinner. A set of four napkins costs $16 and ships for free within the U.S. It's an easy eco-friendly change to mealtime that will save tons of paper napkins in the long run.

Besides beautiful reusable napkins, Sage & Kai offers small, medium and large zippered bags that are perfect to keep pens and pencils for back to school. There are iPad bags, e-reader bags, and even a table runner. Everything is made of organic cotton and looks utterly stylish.

If you are looking for ways to green your back-to-school routine, check out Sage & Kai's eco-friendly creations. They are "designed to brighten you day, with both people and planet in mind." My family agrees.

Now they are just the cutest things. I'm sure the hard part will be re-training the little ones not to toss them!

I'm off to check them out!

The zippered bags would be very handy for school supplies! The napkins are really lovely and would make great Earth Day gifts.
