The Fairy Hobmother Stopped By! Are You Next?

Monday, October 10, 2011 Posted by Dina N

My week started off right - with a visit from The Fairy Hobmother! She lives in the magical world of Appliances Online. This U.K. company offers all sorts of cool appliances for your home - from washers and dryers to refrigerators and ovens.

The fun job of The Fairy Hobmother is to visit blogs, granting wishes and sprinkling magic dust - in my case, in the form of Amazon gift cards. This lucky blogger will be doing some early holiday shopping for her own self this year. How did the Fairy Hobmother know that Amazon is my favorite place to shop?? It's her little secret.

Would you like a visit from The Fairy Hobmother? Leave a comment and share a wish - you may be next on her list!

Many thanks to Broken Teepee where I left a comment for The Fairy Hobmother.

Disclaimer / Disclosure: I am getting an Amazon gift certificate and the pleasure of giving my readers a chance to get a visit from the Fairy Hobmother. Neither has any impact on my personal opinions. Photo credit tarotsulis at Photobucket.

Aw, how nice for you! Congrats!

If perchance the Fairy Hobmother is reading, I have a small wish. Last week my young daughter was making a 1500 mile road trip, moving home, with all of her belongings. She had a blowout in her '91 Volvo station wagon (saved her life, that car did ...); she became airborne and the car flipped six times on the highway. Many of her belongings were in her car-top carrier that was destroyed (kitchen gear, camping gear, her paintings, etc) and she has lost so many of her carefully accumulated and treasured possessions. She told me her pots were crushed. :(

Miraculously, and thankfully, she survived this potentially deadly accident with only one small scratch. Her car is flattened and totaled and I am going to be hunting garage sales to replace some of what she's lost.

If the Fairy Hobmother sees fit, we sure could use some help. I dearly appreciate the consideration.

I would love to have a visit from the Fairy Hobmother! We had a house fire at the end of April and need to buy all new appliances! We should be moving back into our house soon (we're in a rental while ours is fixed) and I just know that we're going to have moving expenses and Christmas all at the same time lol!

That is sooooo sweet and generous!

    A wish? Um Okay!
But first a bit of information… I have seen on many other bloggers’ blogs reporting about this delightful enchanting “Fairy Hobmother”. I went about my research via google and found that many many bloggers have been blessed, many thanks to Fairy Hobmother!

Then I thought and thought that if I was granted a wish I wanted it to be very special request of a wish.

Finally, I thought about the donation requests widget that I have going on at my personal blog ( It says “DR. VONTHREADMORE, AKA KRYSTLEDAWNE, TRAVEL FUND FOR PTG’S TAT DAYS 2012, PLEASE”. This is the story about the fund raiser. Dr. VonThreadmore is my daughter’s alter-ego! My daughter is Krystledawne (her blog: and she is one talented gal. As her Mom, I am proud of her. She does tatting ( I do too, but she is way better than me!). Tatting is fine art of making fine lace with thread. Krystle teaches tatting on her own time and have taught at “Tat Days”. She lives in Washington state and I live in Georgia (USA). I have gone to two Tat Days that is close to where I live. Krystle has been unable to attend that one. She would be able to the scholarship fund with Palmetto Tatters Guild (, but the scholarship only covers the room, food and registration fees for the Tat Days event, not the airfare costs of traveling from Washington state to Georgia. So I have set up a donation fund for anyone at all to contribute to the Dr. VonThreadmore’s trip. So.. that would be my wish.. a donation of any domination, even a dollar.
The alter-ego Dr.VonThreadmore is who my daughter is when she begins her adventure in hand dying threads into wonderful colors of her vision for tatters, crocheters, and other thread work done by talented hands across the globe!

It would be wonderful to be in one of my daughter’s…uhhh I meant Dr. VonThreadmore’s class!
