Kidfresh Meals for Kids: Review and #Giveaway
Kidfresh is a new line of frozen meals for kids. At about 6-8 oz each, these meals are sized just right for children. Kidfresh food is all natural, without artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
My kids tried four varieties of Kidfresh meals: Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese, Totally Twisted Pasta and Meatballs, Rainbow Rice and Chicken, and Spaghetti Loops Bolognese. Pasta and rice are popular at the kids table, and I was not surprised they could not wait to taste them. I did not expect all of the Kidfresh meals to be an instant hit! Actually, now I have to stock up because they've asked repeatedly for the "cute green boxes".
Kidfresh meals are ready in 2-3 minutes in the microwave. Don't tell the kids but they are full of hidden veggies that have been pureed and mixed in to provide up to a third of what little people need each day. If that's not enough to make parents feel good about Kidfresh, here's more. These meals are created with the help of a top chef and a pediatric nutritionist. Even the packaging meets the highest safety standards with no BPA, no Phthalates, and no other potentially harmful chemicals. Kidfresh are packed in recyclable containers and boxes made from recycled paper with carbon-neutral printing. And if you are hesitant about the nutritional value of frozen food in general, know that freezing is actually one of the best ways to preserve nutrients and flavors while extending shelf life. Kidfresh meals are frozen immediately after preparation, so the good stuff stays, well, frozen.
Kidfresh are great options for busy days when you have no time to cook from scratch. My husband loves spicy dishes that are not popular with the rest of the family, so I can serve those and still have a meal for the kids without having to prepare two menus for dinner.
I found Kidfresh frozen meals at Publix and Whole Foods. For a location near you, check out their store locator. You can download a $1 off coupon on their Facebook page.
