Children's Book #Review and #Giveaway: Gunther the Underwater Elephant
Book Description
Gunther, the baby elephant, discovers he can swim under water. But what happens when he swims too far from home?
My Thoughts
Gunther the Underwater Elephant is a lovely written and beautifully illustrated book about the adventures of a little elephant named Gunther. His love of swimming and adventurous spirit takes him far away from home. Gunther meets a whale, sees a sunken ship, sparkling coral and brightly colored fish. When his worried mother starts looking for her baby, she is captured by hunters. Gunther and his elephant family come up with a clever plan to save his mom.
My kids loved Gunther's adventures and the cute illustrations. The book is recommended for kids 4-8. It is written and illustrated by Ginger Nielson who has illustrated a number of other children's books as well. Find out more about Ms. Nielson at her website and blog.
Gunther the Underwater Elephant
was published in the summer by 4RV Publishing. I do have one suggestion for the publisher - correct Ms. Nielson's name on the cover and on the title page. Misspells are embarrassing.
