Story Harbour Folktales for Kids on CD #Giveaway

Saturday, November 05, 2011 Posted by Dina N

My kids love books and I've read countless fairy tales to them over the years. They enjoy listening to stories on CD - in the car or at home. We were excited to receive a CD with folktales from around the world, performed by Zette Harbour.

The Story Harbour vol. 1 CD is a collection of six stories that take kids on a mesmerizing journey. The tales come from all over - Russia, West Africa, England, Japan, and elsewhere. Ms. Harbour is an excellent storyteller. Her expressive voice kept the kids' attention for the entire 50 minutes. My daughter was even disappointed the CD was so short. Then they asked to listen to the stories again. We enjoyed the folktales and the music in between and will be looking forward to volume 2.

Here is a list of the stories:
  • Track 1: Anansi & Stories
  • Track 2: Master Of All Masters
  • Track 3: The Little Old Woman Who Lived In A Vinegar Bottle
  • Track 4: The Crane Wife
  • Track 5: The Sound Of The Money
  • Track 6: The Innkeeper's Clever Daughter
The Story Harbour vol. 1 CD has won several prizes the NAPPA Honors Award, Parents' Choice Recommended Award, and Creative Child Awards Program 2011 Preferred Choice. It is eco-consciously packaged in a Zero Carbon Footprint Digipak™ with a beautiful landscape picture on the front. The CD can be purchased online at the Zette Harbour's store.
