Holiday Gift Guide 2011: Digital Photography #Giveaway {3 Winners}
Today, I have a great gift idea for those who enjoy taking good pictures - and want to make them even better. Digital Photography is written by Henry Horenstein, a photography instructor for over 30 years. Mr. Horenstein certainly knows what he's talking about.
Book Description
This thorough, concise, and easy-to-use guide to capturing digital photographs provides an entire step-by-step course for budding digital photographers. All concepts are fully illustrated with sample work by internationally renowned professionals, representing editorial work, photojournalism, and everything in between. Topics covered include essential information for both film and digital photography, such as exposure controls and shutter speed, as well as digital-specific information on image editing, printing methods, and even file storage. The first digital textbook by legendary photography teacher Henry Horenstein, Digital Photography is the best guide yet for aspiring digital photographers, essential both for photographers transitioning from film to digital and those learning the art of photography for the first time.
My Thoughts
Digital Photography is an excellent basic guide to photography, written accessibly and illustrated with some gorgeous photos. Photography has been my passion for years and even more so once I switched to digital. Capturing a beautiful moment on camera and being able to enjoy it any time I like is just irresistible.
Digital Photography includes eight chapters that cover important topics such as digital capture, camera lens, camera exposure, lighting, image editing and more. It's not a book to be read in a couple of sittings but one that I will be referring to regularly. I am enjoying this guide and highly recommend it to anyone who loves clicking away with a purpose as much as I do. Head over to the nearest bookstore, or to Amazon and other online retailers to snag a copy for yourself or for a friend. I will be buying a few as gifts for my shutterbug pals.
The Giveaway
Thanks to Hachette Book Group, I am hosting a giveaway for three (3) copies of Digital Photography: A Basic Manual

My daughter's at the stage where she's claiming she's adopted - we pulled out all our old, favourite baby photos and went through her short life, step by step, photo by photo. It was great family time. coreybrennan26@hotmail.com
