Organic Coconut Water Vinegar from Tropical Traditions #Giveaway
I use mostly apple cider vinegar or balsamic but I'd never cooked with coconut water vinegar. Since I love everything coconut from Tropical Traditions, I wanted to try their Organic Coconut Water Vinegar.
The Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Water Vinegar is fermented from the water inside the coconuts. It is not clear but brownish and a little cloudy because it contains the "mother of vinegar". This vinegar is raw and unpasteurized, fermented with fair-trade organic Muscabado whole cane sugar. This sugar is deep brown in color which gives a brown coloring to the vinegar. While the sugar is necessary in the fermentation process, it is used up during fermentation and there is no sugar content left in the vinegar.
As far as vinegars go, this is one of the healthiest. I was surprised to find out that it did not have a coconut flavor. It smells like vinegar and it's quite the refreshing drink when mixed with water. This versatile vinegar can be used in vinaigrette, salads, and cooking. I love it in coconut BBQ sauce and in homemade ketchup! There are some excellent recipes using coconut water vinegar on the Tropical Traditions website. Check out my favorites, the Roast Chicken with Coconut Peanut Butter Sauce and the Chicken Adobo.
A 16 oz bottle of USDA certified organic coconut water vinegar is now on sale for $7.99. Or, get the 32 oz for $14.50. If you are a first-time customer who buys through my referral links, you will get a free Virgin Coconut Oil book, too!
