Book Description
With two months left to find a husband to fulfill her grandmother’s ultimatum, Lady Celia Sharpe sets her sights on three eligible bachelors. Becoming betrothed to one of these wealthy, high-ranking men will surely prove her capable of getting married, so hopefully the wedding itself won’t be necessary for Celia and her siblings to receive their inheritance. Step two of her audacious plan is hiring the dangerously compelling Bow Street Runner Jackson Pinter to investigate the three men she’s chosen.

With Lady Celia bedeviling Jackson’s days and nights, the last thing he wants is to help her find a husband. And when she recalls shadowed memories that lead his investigation into her parents’ mysterious deaths in a new direction, putting her in danger, Jackson realizes the only man he wants Celia to marry is himself!

My Thoughts
A Lady Never Surrenders is the last one from Sabrina Jeffries' The Hellions of Halstead Hall books. The series follows the story of five siblings - the "hellions" - three brothers and two sisters. They are faced with their grandmother's ultimatum: marry by year's end, or lose their inheritance. Each book tells the story of one of them scrambling to meet gran's demands and find love at the same time. A Lady Never Surrenders is about Lady Celia, the youngest sister, who hopes to outmaneuver their stubborn grandmother without depriving her siblings from inheriting their due. She recruits Jackson Porter, a Bow Street runner who the family has hired to find out the truth about her parents's death, to investigate her suitors. Lady Celia gets more than she bargained for: Jackson is no ordinary employee, and their mutual attraction grows as they spend more time together. In addition, the two are trying to solve the cold case of the murder of Celia's parents, crossing an unknown someone who tries to stop them at all cost.

A Lady Never Surrenders features likable characters, witty conversation, an old mystery, and an abundance of passion and danger. Last year, I enjoyed reading book #3 in the series, How to Woo a Reluctant Lady. Now I plan to go back and read the other three novels in The Hellions of Halstead Hall series. If they are anything like this one, I know I am in for a fun adventure.

If you have not discovered Sabrina Jeffries' romance novels yet, right now on Amazon you can get a free Kindle download of her short story The French Maid.

A Lady Never Surrenders is coming out on January 24, 2012, new from Pocket Books.

I think I read a couple of the earlier ones and they were quite entertaining.

Sounds like a great premise with great characters! Sounds like the grandma is a tough lady.
