Decorating with Stainless Steel

Thursday, March 15, 2012 Posted by Dina N

When we bought our house a few years ago, the kitchen had brand new white appliances. As much as I like stainless steel, I was not about to replace a perfectly good  stove, dishwasher and fridge. Our refrigerator stopped working last year and I almost made the stainless plunge. Then again, I was very happy with my gas stove and did not want to spend the money on a new one.

Well, it turns out I can have all the stainless steel I want in my kitchen - without replacing the appliances. I discovered tons of very sleek looking kitchen accessories from Blomus. I love their 5 Piece Cita Stainless Steel Cruet Set, the cute soap dishes, the salad bowls, chrome baskets and wine racks. And the Blomus Large Stainless Steel Bread Basket with Red Cotton Liner will go perfectly with my lovely red Le Creuset pots that practically live on the stove.

But stainless steel is not just for kitchens and water bottles. I love the Blomus stainless steel fireplace sets. I would match one with the Blomus Stainless Steel Polished Glass Fireplace Screen, a stainless steel wood rack, and put a stainless steel magazine rack on the other side of the fireplace.

Moving on to the bathroom, I like the Blomus stainless towel racks and toilet paper butler, the soap dispensers, the glass shelve with stainless steel back, the Nexio mirror, the cabinets, and the towel hooks. I even found a Blomus Nexio Polished Stainless Steel Tissue Box.

Love working in your garden? How about a stainless steel watering can? Some garden pole torches? Or a Blomus stainless steel bird feeder? Maybe not that, I wonder how hot it gets in the summer...

I had no idea there were so many home decor items made from stainless steel. Now I do - so I am bookmarking The Stainless Steel Store for the next time I get the redecorating bug.

Stainless steel is sleek and easy to clean. I would love to get a big stainless steel stove.

I liked the items that you referenced and explored their site. I noticed they have some stainless steel aromatherapy burners that looked pretty cool.

What a great idea. I've been leery of the appliances, because I hear they can be difficult to keep clean.

I think that more items are available in stainless steel now that it is becoming more popular. It can be a nice accent to any room without being too much :) I think I would see lots of little fingerprint smudges if we had more stainless steel around...
