It's not like preschoolers need a lot of space for their stuff. After all, they are no longer in diapers, are toilet trained, and there's no wipes, creams, or five extra pairs of underwear. Still, there are coats, hats and mittens in winter. Sunscreen and bug spray when the weather turns warmer. Art projects, "library" books, a change of clothes. Sometimes little hands don't have the dexterity - or the patience - to hang up jackets and backpacks on the same hook. So I see a few coats on the floor every day.
It would be easier if there were lockers for kids where everything had its place. I love the wooden locker and cubbie combos that are designed specifically for preschoolers. There are hooks for their jackets, cubbies with colorful plastic bins for storage, and space for shoes.
I would not mind having some childrens lockers at my house... Would all of my kids' stuff magically get organized, I wonder? A mom can dream...
