This month, Dollar General® is teaming up with Procter & Gamble to recognize the men and women of the U.S. military and their families. The Every Day Heroes Program honors those true heroes who have made sacrifices for their families, their communities, and their country.  

Dollar General values these heroes and offers many career opportunities for returning veterans. Dollar General is the winner of the 2011 Military Officers Association of America Distinguished Service Award and was recognized inGI Jobs magazine’s list of Most Military Friendly Employers.

    aside from military, we have volunteer fire fighters and volunteer rescue squad people in our community. They respond 24/7 for our benefit and there is no paycheck to reimburse them. I totally think they qualify as heroes!

    Our daughter has Down Syndrome and is non verbal. Our hero is her teacher from last year who taught Bethany how to use an i-pad. Now she can communicate with people.

    I agree with the previous poster librarians are definitely every day heroes inspiring the gift of literacy and education is always a great thing to me too!

    As for an everyday hero I would say my best friend is mine we've been through a lot together!

    I think many teachers are everyday heros. Many of them are supporting at least one child in their classroom by providing food and/or money.
