Raggedy Ann Collection Doll Give Away

? These adorable dolls first appeared over 90 years ago. The Raggedy Ann character was created in 1915 as a doll, and was introduced to the public in the 1918 book Raggedy Ann Stories. Its sequel, Raggedy Andy Stories (1920) introduced the character of her brother, Raggedy Andy, dressed in sailor suit and hat.Earlier this year, toy company Aurora released several classic Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy rag dolls and Fancy Pals™. This new line of plush dolls combines the vintage and modern, the old-fashioned charm and contemporary quality. The dolls are handmade and show great attention to detail. I got to see first hand how huggable and well made the new Raggedy Ann doll is! At first I was tempted to keep it for myself... Then I tucked it away in a secret corner of my closet. I am sure my daughter will be very happy to find it under the tree come December.
Speaking of Christmas, here's some inside scoop you can use when shopping for children's gifts. Four holiday styles will be available later this year. The Raggedy Ann "Chilly Chic" and "Santa's Helper" and Raggedy Andy "Chilly Chic" and "Santa" are 16 inches long and their suggested retail price is $27.
The 8", 12" 16" and 25" classic Raggedy Ann or Raggedy Andy rag dolls are quite affordable, priced at $10, $15, $25 and $35 respectively. Their smaller cousins, the Fancy Pals Raggedy Ann Butterfly or Red Ribbon are 7" and $17 each. All Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls are appropriate for kids 18 months and up. Aurora's Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy can be purchased at retail or online at the official Aurora shop.

I love the 16" Classic Raggedy Ann (large)! It's one of the first costumes I remember wearing for halloween. My mother made it for me and created the wig with pantyhose and red yarn. I loved it!
