RX Timer Cap Keeps Track of Your Meds #Giveaway

Monday, January 14, 2013 Posted by Dina N

Recently, my entire family was sick. Flu-like symptoms, pink eye, ear infection, severe cold - we had it all, and all at the same time. I was sick as a dog and had to remember when I and everyone else last took their medicine - not an easy feat when I am moving around in a permanent fog. Luckily, I had something that kept track of every single medication schedule: the RX Timer Cap.

The RX Timer Cap is a simple yet genius little invention that counts the hours and minutes since a medication was taken. It's an empty medication bottle with a timer built in the cap. The cap works like a stopwatch. Every time you open and close the cap to take medication, the timer automatically resets itself and then begins counting anew. There is no need to remember that Med 1 was taken at 8 am, Med 2 at noon, and Med 3 at 3 pm. The timers do it for you! Without those helpful timers, I would have lost my mind trying to remember when to give my kids and my husband their various meds, or when to take mine.

The bottles of the RX Timer Cap come in two sizes: standard and large. I found that placing the whole medication in its original container inside an RX Timer Cap bottle worked best for us. If the original packaging would not fit, I would write down the name of the patient, the name of the medication, and the schedule on a piece of paper and place it in the bottle. Then I lined up the meds on a high shelf - kids in the house and all - and keeping track was a breeze. Need to tell the pediatrician when your sick child took her fever medicine last? Easy, just glance at the RX Timer Cap.

The cap can be especially helpful also for those who are monitoring meds for pets or parents, and especially when the patient needs to take several prescriptions. As anyone who has been the caretaker of elderly parents knows, keeping track of mom or dad’s meds can be difficult. With the Timer Cap, you can easily see when their medications were dispensed last.

The RX Timer Cap has given me invaluable peace of mind at a time when my family members were ill. I highly recommend it - even if all you have to remember to take is your daily vitamin.

You can buy the RX Timer Cap at their website and connect with the brand via Facebook and Twitter (@RxTimerCap).

This would come in so handy for all of us when we're taking daily doses of any of the meds we are prescribed, especially during cold and flu season.

I'm notorious for forgetting to take my medication when needed. I'm not a big fan of medications and as such, is on my list of "not to do". This would be very helpful in keeping in line during those times I need to take something.

Even though I could use it myself, I would give it to my mother-in-law to use. My father-in-law is in early onset of dementia & she could really use this.
