Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Every year, I add an ornament - or two, or three - to our Christmas tree. Often, it's something my kids made at school. Once, it was a set of gorgeous sterling ornaments I found on sale. This year, I have several new ornaments created by my children, a photo ornament with family pictures, and a beautiful King Caspar Christmas ornament from Reed & Barton.

King Gaspar from Europe is one of the "Three Kings of the Orient" and second in Reed & Barton's Nativity Series of Christmas ornaments. As a gift to the newborn king, Gaspar brought Frankincense, which was used primarily as incense and perfume, and was considered a soothing gift.

The ornament is beautifully made and hangs on a red ribbon. It feels quite solid and heavy, like sterling silver, but it's actually silverplate. It depicts King Gaspar in silhouette, riding an elephant. The ornament is decorated with bas-relief and shows good craftsmanship and attention to detail. The elephant's reins are a silver chain. I love the orange, red and blue enamel accents. The ornament is 4 inches tall and comes in a nice gift box that can double up as storage. Personally, I won't be storing the ornament in the box, since it is much bigger than the actual ornament and takes unnecessary space in my ornaments box.

Right now, Reed & Barton are running a promotion called "12 Days of Savings". Every day starting December 12, one ornament will be half off. And guess what's the tenth ornament on sale on December 21? King Gaspar, of course.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
