Majestical Jewelry {Review} #spon

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Majestical is an online jewelry store specializing in handmade jewelry and statement pieces. When I first heard of them a few weeks ago, I spent a long time browsing their site. I found many pieces I liked, especially among the silver and gemstone jewelry. My favorites were the earrings and necklaces made with amethyst and turquoise, particularly the ones set in silver. There is something about the contrast between the blue and purple of the gemstones and the color of silver that I find simply irresistible. Their charms look adorable. I saw many interesting pieces from the fashion jewelry line as well. Overall, I was impressed by the selection and variety of jewelry offered by Majestical. Their prices were very affordable, with the possible exception of some higher-end pieces. My impression was that there was something for every style, taste, and price range.

Majestical offered me a piece of their newest collection for review. I did not know in advance which item I'd receive but the three necklaces pictured in the offer looked very attractive. I loved the colors, too, and I rather liked the idea of being surprised. After all, the company would "take a look at your blog and determine a piece of jewelry that fits with the style of your look and blog. All of our pieces are really stunning, so you can rest assured it will be gorgeous!" So, I could not wait.

A couple of weeks later, my package arrived. The jewelry was packed in a carton gift box that included a fabric jewelry bag. Unfortunately, the surprise inside was not a good one. It looked nothing like the three pretty necklaces you see on the right - the ones that illustrated the Majestical's review offer.

The set in the box closely resembled the Pink Leaf Bib necklace and matching earrings on their site. However, the colors were more red than pink, and the earrings were darker than the two shades of red used in the necklace. They did not really match either of the necklace colors. The necklace was heavier than I would have expected from a piece made from plastic. The beads were quite large. The earrings were much smaller and lighter - a good thing, since I know from experience that heavy earrings hurt my ears. However, these Majestical earrings looked like something from the dollar store. I kept racking my brain for an outfit to go with the set, and came up empty. Neither the earrings nor the necklace were anything even close to my style. Of course, the company could not have guessed what I liked, right? Unless they actually cared to glance at any of the jewelry pieces I've reviewed in the past. After all, they did promise to send something that fit with the style of my blog... Overall, the set was squarely in the too much category: too clunky, too heavy, too loud, too cheap-looking. Stunning and gorgeous? Not. Disappointing? You bet.

It's a pity that a company displaying beautiful jewelry on their website chose to send for review pieces that represent them so poorly - and to mislead the bloggers who accept to work with them.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. All opinions are my own.

I actually like the set you received. I have a necklace exactly like that one but black. I don't have matching earrings though so lucky you!

It really is a shame that Majestical Jewelry treated their bloggers so badly! The set you received is definitely one of the "nicer" things I've seen sent, but that's not saying much.

I'd be curious to see if the company does anything to rectify themselves among the blogging community.

I guess I'm one of the only ones happy with what got sent to them. I really liked my feather necklace. I agree with you on what you got though - that is not something I would wear either.

Sorry that your experience turned out to be a negative one, but I appreciate your sharing it with us, it helps us evaluate if we would want to use this company, and I agree that what you received is not my taste either. Once again thank you for this review.

It's a shame they didn't send you a quality product. It sound a little like a bait and switch.

I love the color of red. The set you received in pictures looks really nice but it's a picture one can only truly tell of the color and quality in person. As much as I love red I don't think I would have anything I could wear that set with either. Thanks for the review.
